The retrial of Kim Shin-hye, a weapon who has been serving 24 years in prison for killing her father, will take place nine years after the retrial decision.

The Haenam Branch of the Gwangju District Court decided to hold a retrial of Kim's murder charge and issue a sentence on December 18.

In this trial, the prosecution said that Kim often makes false statements without reflection, and asked for the same life sentence as the previous Supreme Court ruling.

Kim was charged with murdering his father in March 2000 and then abandoning his body, and he was sentenced to life imprisonment.

However, Kim has pleaded not guilty, saying his uncle forced him to make false statements and confessions, and a decision to start a retrial was made in 2015 after the police's illegal investigation was recognized.
