Chief Entertainment, the producer of the entertainment show "I Am Solo," was fined for violating the rights of freelance broadcasting writers by not writing a written contract.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism imposed a fine of 1.5 million won on the Chief Entertainment after deliberation and resolution by the Artist Rights Guarantee Committee.

It also recommended correction to sign a contract on an equal footing with the writers to issue a written contract to the writers and submit measures to prevent recurrence.

Producers can comment on prior notice of fines by the 4th of next month, and if they volunteer to pay fines within the submission period, they can receive a reduction of up to 20%.

Earlier, the National Press Workers' Union's Broadcasting Writers' Branch reported to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, saying that Chief Entertainment forced writers to make unfair contract terms and refused to distribute proper profits.
