Former President of the Korea Wushu Association Park Chang-beom Declares to Run for President of the Korea Sports Council

Park said in his announcement on the 22nd, "I decided to run to block the third consecutive term of Lee Ki-heung, the current chairman of the Korea Sports Council, and open a new 100 years of Korean sports that communicates with the people with fairness and common sense."

He said, "I will be at the forefront of correcting the broken sports world due to the self-righteous operation of the current chairman and fixing immoral, unfair, and irrational systems."

"The Korean sports community is in crisis due to one person's self-righteous influence. We have to focus on promoting national prestige through a healthy life and sports for the people, but it has become an immoral organization due to lack of communication."

"Now, we need to open an era in which sports are loved and respected as belonging to all the people for a new order in the sports world," he said.Former president

Park warned, "We should not use the IOC (International Olympic Committee) to pressure athletes," adding, "If the current president attracts the IOC to protect his power, all citizens and athletes will launch a signature campaign together to deliver the truth to the IOC."

Park is from Daegu and served as the 12th and 13th president of the Korean Wushu Association, former executive member of the International Wushu Federation, former director of the Korean Sports Council, the 18th Jakarta Asian Games Public Relations Team, and former standing vice president of the Jogye Order Central Credit Union.

He is currently an advisor to the World Taekwondo Demonstration Team and chairman of KOREA TOP Team.
