In order to prevent children from being exposed to the increasing number of illegal spam texts, the three mobile telecommunication companies have decided to assign unused numbers to their kids' phones first.

In a report submitted to the office of Kim Jang-kyum, the three mobile carriers said they will soon begin to assign unused numbers to children's phones first.

Kids phones are separately designed to check children's movements and prevent access to harmful content.

This measure is expected to effectively block illegal spam texts such as pornography and gambling sent to existing numbers if numbers that have never been used are assigned first to children's phones.
