Youngpoong and MBK issued a statement and countered that shareholders participated in Youngpoong's tender offer because it supported concerns that Korea Zinc's governance was undermined by the tyranny of Chairman Choi Yoon-beom and that its corporate and shareholder value fell.
He also stressed that the court's decision on provisional disposition was not a judgment that there was no illegality, meaning that the illegality of the tender offer of treasury stocks should be dealt with through the main lawsuit.
He added that he will have to tell shareholders about Ignio investment, which has been plagued by numerous suspicions, and SM Entertainment's involvement in market price manipulation.
