The won-dollar exchange rate has risen sharply since early trading, exceeding 1,380 won.

On the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won-dollar exchange rate rose 3.9 won to 1,379.1 won and continued to trade in the 1,380 won range, increasing its gains soon after.

The local currency rose 4.9 won to 1,380.1 won against the U.S. dollar as of 3:30 p.m.It is the first time since July 31 that the

won-dollar exchange rate has reached the 1,380 won range.

U.S. Treasury yields rose sharply as U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump weighed in on his chances of winning the election, and the dollar is strengthening as key members of the U.S. Federal Reserve have hinted at a pace to cut key interest rates.
