While more than 80,000 requests for illegal horse racing sites have been reported and closed in the past six years, only 60,000 have led to actual closures, which need to be improved.

According to the data received by Chung Hee-yong, a member of the People's Power, from the Korea Racing Association, between 2019 and September this year, there were a total of 81,042 requests for illegal horse racing sites to be reported and closed, and 61,064 sites were actually closed.

It is explained that there are physical limitations in the process of closing the Korea Communications Standards Commission through reporting or self-detection, checking whether the Korea Communications Standards Commission is illegal, and closing it.

Lawmaker Chung stressed that failure to properly crack down on illegal horse racing sites could cause social harm as well as individuals, and that damage to the public should be prevented by strengthening the expertise of the crackdown personnel and expanding the cooperation system with investigative agencies.
