The National Assembly's Environment and Labor Committee has decided to order Arisel Park Soon-kwan, who was arrested and charged with violating the Serious Disaster Punishment Act after 23 workers were killed in a factory fire.

Ahn Ho-young, chairman of the Economic, Social and Labor Committee, pointed out that Park has a duty to clearly convey her apology to the bereaved family and the people at the National Assembly and to express her willingness to make serious efforts to compensate and recover from the damage.

Earlier, CEO Park issued a statement of reasons for not attending the parliamentary inspection, saying that there is inevitably a limit to answering questions related to the ongoing trial and that the answers could affect the investigation and trial in the future.
