Representative Cho Hyun-geun of the Medical Association recently sent a consent form to convene an extraordinary general meeting of representatives to propose a no-confidence motion for Chairman Lim.
Representative Cho cited the failure to block the nursing law, insufficient response after the announcement of the increase in medical school, the attempt to divide the resignation major, and rude talk as reasons for no confidence in Chairman Lim.
Chairman Lim, who has been under fire for making inappropriate remarks several times, recently posted an SNS message targeting Jang Sang-yoon, senior presidential secretary for social affairs, saying, "I'm tired of hearing people like schizophrenia." He also apologized for the controversy over the disparagement of the disabled.
This is the second time that a no-confidence survey of members of the Korean Medical Association was conducted from August to September, and a no-confidence motion can be proposed only when at least a third of the registered delegates agree.
