The ruling party and the government held a "Democratic Party Government Council on Stabilizing the Supply and Demand of Kimchi Materials" at the National Assembly, attended by representative Han Dong-hoon, floor leader Choo Kyung-ho and Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Song Mi-ryeong.

At the meeting, the government decided to supply 24,000 tons of cabbage by increasing the contract cultivation volume by 10% from last year, and to stock 1,000 tons at all times from the end of October when the supply expands.

In addition, in the case of radish, 90,000 tons will be distributed as contract cultivation volume of Nonghyup, up 14% from last year, and 500 tons of domestic garlic and onions will be supplied directly to wholesale markets or large supermarkets.

In addition, we plan to discount up to 40% of kimjang vegetables at marts and traditional markets, up to 50% of marine products such as sea salt and salted fish, and conduct a special crackdown on the origin of kimjang materials.

Kim Sang-hoon, chairman of the policy committee, said Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, said that the number of people giving up kimchi is increasing, but it is no longer valid, adding that consumers can now feel free to make kimchi as much as they want.
