The Ministry of Environment has notified the region of 10 candidate sites for the construction of new dams in the climate crisis, excluding four sites that are highly opposed in the region.

According to the data received by Kim Tae-sun of the Democratic Party of Korea, a member of the National Assembly's Environment and Labor Committee, the Ministry of Environment sent a plan to manage river watershed water resources for each watershed, including 10 candidate sites for dams, to local governments on the 22nd.The candidate sites for the establishment of the

dam were Amicheon Stream in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do, Sanguicheon Stream in Samcheok-si, Gangwon-do, and Unmuncheon Stream in Cheongdo-gun, Gyeongbuk.

The Ministry of Environment plans to form a consensus by communicating with the region, even if the dams excluded from the candidate site do not immediately follow-up procedures for the establishment.

However, it was pointed out that the Ministry of Environment held only one meeting attended by the minister as the candidate site for the dam, and the Ministry of Environment explained that unofficial meetings were held several times.
