The epicenter of the earthquake is 5km west of Chilgok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and the depth of the epicenter is 8km.
The earthquake has caused many people to feel it indoors in North Gyeongsang Province, and the vibration of magnitude 4, which is the degree to which bowls and windows shake, was detected.
In Daegu and Gyeongsangnam-do, the tremor of magnitude 2 was also transmitted to the extent that people in high-rise buildings can feel.
The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) warned that there was no damage from the earthquake, but the depth of the epicenter was low, so some strong shaking was detected around the Yeongnam region.
The earthquake in Chilgok, North Gyeongsang Province, came about six months after a 2.6-magnitude earthquake on April 22.
Including this earthquake, 69 earthquakes with a magnitude of 2.0 or higher have occurred on the Korean Peninsula this year.
