Psychiatrist and broadcaster Yang Jae-woong (42) said he does not admit the hospital's negligence in relation to the patient's death accident.

Yang Jae-woong appeared as a witness at the parliamentary audit of the National Assembly's Health and Welfare Committee on the 23rd and answered, "It is difficult to admit the hospital's negligence in relation to the patient's death."

Yang Jae-woong also avoided immediate answers to questions such as "Was there a doctor on duty at the time of his death" and "Who ordered the patient to quarantine and obsess over it?" and "I apologize, not because I experienced it," and "It is a matter under investigation (difficult to answer)."

On this day, a woman who identified herself as the bereaved family of the deceased patient held a protest at the National Assembly. The woman, dressed in black, criticized Yang Jae-woong, shouting, "I (looked away) my daughter who appealed to me to send her to the emergency room," and "I never apologized to my family."

Yang Jae-woong did not respond much to this and entered the National Assembly after completing the procedure.

When asked if he had met the bereaved family in person and apologized at the National Assembly, Yang Jae-woong said, "I'm still...He said, "We met and couldn't apologize in person."

However, he said, "I have been willing to apologize (to the bereaved)," and added, "Once again, I apologize again for not being able to recover safely even though you trusted our hospital."

In May, a woman in her 30s, who was hospitalized at a psychiatric hospital in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do, operated by Yang Jae-woong, died. The accident was belatedly reported by the media in July. At that time, A was hospitalized to treat diet drug addiction, but died 17 days later. Shortly before his death, he was reportedly quarantined and forced after receiving a high risk of self-harm from medical staff.

The bereaved family complained of abdominal pain the day before their death, but they were quarantined and forced without proper measures. In June, the bereaved family filed a complaint against six medical staff, including Yang Jae-woong, the head of the hospital, on charges of professional negligence.

Yang Jae-woong suspended broadcasting activities and postponed his marriage to group EXID Hani indefinitely after the accident due to strong criticism.
