The Sejong Police Agency's violent drug crime unit said it has arrested two people, including a man in his 50s, for secretly growing and storing hemp in the mountains.

They are accused of cultivating 67 weeks of hemp in the hills of Unjusan Mountain in Sejong and Gongju in Chungcheongnam-do for the past six months, harvesting some and storing them in kimchi refrigerators.

They have been secretly cultivating hemp by cultivating land in the deep mountains where there is no human traffic.

Police say they seized KRW 340 million worth of hemp, including 67 weeks of hemp, 2.3 kilograms of dried hemp leaves and 57 grams of seeds, and are continuing their investigation into the seller.
