Yesterday, a senior solo project event was held at Unhyeon Palace in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

It's called "Jongro Good Life Challenge"!

Hosted by Jongno-gu, the event was designed with the hope that the elderly who spend quiet time alone will have a happy old age by making friends who can rely on each other,

and the general welfare center for the elderly in the jurisdiction, 20 men and women were selected from among them by receiving applications for single people aged 65 or older.

The participants wore their own nicknames around their necks instead of their real names,

Men have famous names such as soccer player 'Hwang In-beom' and trot singer 'Baeho', and female participants have many beautiful flower names such as 'Mugunghwa', 'Magnolia', and 'Rose'.

Following self-introduction, the event was held in the order of recreation and matching after having free conversation time.

In the fun time, there were many conversations that cheered and encouraged each other, saying, "Let's have fun now because we've worked hard so far."

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, as of last year, one in four senior citizens aged 65 or older living in Seoul was found to be living alone.

It's the number that has soared by more than 100,000 in five years,

In particular, Jongno-gu has the highest ratio of senior citizens living alone to the number of senior citizens at 38.9% in Seoul.
