Judge Moon Hyung-bae will act as the director of the vacant post after former Constitutional Court President Lee Jong-seok left office on the 17th.

The Constitutional Court held a meeting of judges at 3 p.m. today (24th) and announced that Judge Moon was elected as acting president.Judge

began his career as a judge at the Busan District Court in 1992, served as the head of the Changwon District Court, the head of the Busan Family Court, and the chief judge of the Busan High Court.

Justice Moon, who is also the most senior judge among current judges based on the date and age of his appointment, will lead the Constitutional Court until a new director is appointed.

According to the Constitution, the quorum of judges is nine, but the Constitutional Court is currently operating under a six-member system as the National Assembly has not elected a successor after Lee Jong-seok and judges Lee Young-jin and Kim Ki-young left office on the 17th.
