According to the Gwangju Buk-gu Office on the 24th, a baseball bat was found broken in a sculpture of Kim Sung-han, a former professional baseball player, installed on the fashion street in Yongbong-dong the morning of the previous day.
The sculpture, which was installed by the Buk-gu Office in Gwangju as part of a fashion street specialization project in 2020, was damaged in May 2023 when a drunk broke his bat.
The Buk-gu Office repaired it again on the 27th of last month, about a year and five months later, but it was confirmed that someone broke the bat less than a month later.
The Fashion Street Merchants Association plans to ask the police for an investigation. The Buk-gu Office also plans to install a notice board to warn the surrounding area after restoration.
