A man in his 30s who ran away and killed a pedestrian crossing a crossing while driving too fast under the influence of alcohol was also sentenced to prison at an appeals court.

The Chuncheon District Court sentenced a 38-year-old man, A, to two and a half years in prison, the same as the original court, on charges of fleeing and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Mr. A was put on trial on December 27 last year on charges of hitting 46-year-old Mr. B who was crossing a crossing on a road in Wonju, Gangwon-do at around 11:15 p.m. and running away.As a result of the

accident shock, B bounced about 30m and was taken to a hospital for treatment with severe head injuries, but eventually died.

According to the investigation, A was drunk with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.107%, speeding at 83km/h on a 60km/h road, and tried to cover up the crime by removing the vehicle's black box after the accident.

The first trial court sentenced the victim to prison for having circumstances to take into account the circumstances of the accident, such as entering the crossing from a green signal and then having an accident after turning into a red signal, and agreeing with the bereaved family.

A appealed, saying the sentence was heavy, but the second trial court refused to accept it.
