Hazardous substances have been detected in children's umbrellas and camping chairs sold on Chinese online platforms that exceed domestic standards.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government said safety tests on four children's umbrellas, six camping chairs and five picnic mats sold by Temu and Ali Express showed that seven products were inappropriate.

First of all, problems such as phthalate plasticizers and lead exceeding domestic standards or lack of durability were found in all four types of children's umbrellas, and for one product, phthalate plasticizers were found to exceed 476 times the domestic standard.

In two types of camping chairs for children, harmful substances exceeded the domestic standard, and one picnic mat was found to contain a phthalate plasticizer that exceeds the domestic standard 51 times in the fiber and coating of the mat.
