The Western District Court sentenced Lee, a former secretary, to five years in prison today (25th) on charges of embezzling more than 2.1 billion won, including the personal funds of Noh So-young, director of the art center Navi.

The court judged that Lee embezzled 2.1 billion won several times over the past four years, and that the nature of the crime was not good, such as forging and exercising private documents in the process.

He explained that a prison sentence is inevitable because most of the stolen money is used for private purposes such as living expenses and stock investments, and there is no reason to take into account the motive of the crime.

However, the court said that 8 million won in defraudation seems to have been repeatedly recorded in the account transfer fraud among the charges, and this part was partially innocent.

Lee, who joined the art center in 2019, was put on trial for stealing a total of 2.13 billion won, including transferring 1.19 billion won from director Roh's account to his account for four years and taking out more than 400 million won in loans under director Roh's name.
