government expresses concern over ratification of house of representatives 'north korea-russia treaty'

The government expressed concern over the ratification of a "comprehensive strategic partnership treaty" signed by the Russian House of Representatives with North Korea.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "Our government is gravely concerned about Russia's ratification of the North Korea-Russia treaty amid the North Korean military's dispatch of troops to Russia."

He also strongly urged the immediate withdrawal of North Korean troops and the suspension of illegal cooperation, stressing that corresponding measures will be taken in line with the progress of military cooperation between North Korea and Russia.

The State Duma, which is equivalent to the Russian House of Representatives, deliberated on the ratification of the North Korea-Russia Treaty submitted by President Vladimir Putin on the 24th local time and unanimously passed it.
