According to data received from the Ministry of Health and Welfare yesterday (24th) by Kim Yoon of the Democratic Party of Korea, 44.9% of 9,163 residents who resigned or gave up their appointment, or 4,111, were re-employed at medical institutions as of the 20th.
2,341, or 56.9% of the resignation residents, were working in the clinic. When looking at the subjects they treat at the clinic, the number of general doctors was the highest at 808. It was followed by 347 internal medicine, 199 orthopedics, 193 otolaryngology, 168 dermatology, and 164 ophthalmology.
The number of resignation residents employed in hospital-level medical institutions was 1,050, accounting for 25.5% of all rehired workers.
Only 72 people (1.8%) worked at advanced general hospitals. There were 648 people who were employed in general hospitals, or 15.8%.
