A government delegation consisting of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Intelligence Service plans to visit Belgium early next week to hold a series of briefings and meetings with officials on the North Korean military's dispatch to Russia from NATO and the EU.
Looking at the specific schedule, the government delegation will brief the EU Political and Security Committee on the 28th at NATO headquarters, following the North Atlantic Council attended by ambassadors from 32 member countries.
Earlier on the 21st, NATO Secretary-General Mark Luther requested the dispatch of a Korean government delegation during a telephone meeting with President Yoon Suk Yeol, and President Yoon promised to dispatch it quickly.
The government delegation will be led by Hong Jang-won, the first deputy chief of the National Intelligence Service, Park Jin-young, head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Yoo Jeong-hyun, ambassador to Belgium.
