As health insurance is applied to COVID-19 treatments, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has shifted from purchasing drugs from pharmaceutical companies and supplying them to pharmacies for free, to a commercial distribution system in which pharmacies and medical institutions purchase and use drugs from pharmaceutical companies.
In addition, prescriptions and preparations have been available only at the "corona 19 treatment agency," but from today, health insurance recipients can receive COVID-19 treatment at a commercial pharmacy or medical institution.
The patient's out-of-pocket cost is 47,000 won for a pack of Paxlovid tablets and 49,000 won for Veclury, which is maintained at the current level.
