Running is not normal these days.

In particular, more and more people, especially young people, feel that running itself is fun regardless of the record.

Of the 5,000 people who participated in the "YTN Marathon" held on the 5th, nearly 60% were in their 20s and 30s.

Running took over the national sports baton following golf, tennis, and Pilates, which were popular recently.

In a survey of exercise experiences conducted by Gallup Korea, running increased to 32% last year, making it the second most common exercise after hiking.

The characteristic of the younger generation who enjoy running is that they post the distance and time they run on social media, share photos, and perceive it as a play.

A so-called 'donation run' that linked running and donation also appeared.

In March, nearly 4,000 people participated in an event where a donation of 840 won was accumulated per person if they ran 8.4km around Yeouinaru Station, Seoul.

As the popularity of running increases, related industries are also growing.

According to the Korea Federation of Textile Industries, the overall sneaker market grew to about 4 trillion won last year, of which the running shoe market is estimated to be 1 trillion won.

Among young people who are sensitive to fashion, there is an open run phenomenon in which they line up from the morning to buy the running shoes they want.

Distributors have started to attract customers by decorating specialized stores.
