Boeing Co., whose factory workers went on strike, is seeking to sell its space businesses, including Starliner, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Boeing has been in contact with Blue Origin, a space company founded by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, to sell the U.S. space agency program.

Boeing's space projects include manned spacecraft Starliner and ISS support projects developed to transport astronauts to the ISS.

But the Starliner has become a drag along with a series of 737 MAX crashes as it has struggled with development delays and technical issues over the years.

The loss of 1.4 trillion won a month is also seen as accelerating the sale of the space business due to continued disruptions in aircraft production as union strikes demanding higher wages continued for more than five weeks.
