Israel has launched a retaliatory attack on Iran.

Reuters and other foreign media reported that explosions were heard several times in Iran's capital Tehran and Karaz early on the 26th local time.

"We are carrying out a precision strike on Iran's military facilities in response to months of Iranian aggression," the Israeli military said in a statement.

"The loud explosion could have been due to the operation of Iran's anti-aircraft defense system," an Iranian intelligence official said on state television.

The Associated Press said it was unclear what Iranian military facilities had been attacked so far.

The U.S. CBS reported, citing officials, that the Israeli attack was limited to military facilities, not nuclear or oil facilities.

The White House reportedly received an air strike plan just before Israel's retaliatory attacks.

Israel's retaliatory attack against Iran came in 25 days.

Iran fired about 200 ballistic missiles at Israel on the 1st, claiming it was retaliation for the killing of Ismail Haniye, the head of Palestinian militant Hamas, and Hasan Nasrallah, the head of Lebanese militant Hezbollah.

In response, Israel has confirmed its policy to attack Iran and discussed the timing and method of retaliation.
