Last month, the People's Power proposed the formation of a consultative body between the ruling and opposition parties and the ruling and opposition parties to resolve the parliamentary conflict through dialogue.

For the first time in more than a month, the Korean Medical Association and the Korea Medical University Graduate School Association expressed their intention to participate.

The atmosphere of the launch seemed to be gaining momentum as the Council of University Professors across the country also expressed the possibility of participation.

But the warmth quickly cooled.

This is because the Medical Association and others nailed the "autonomous permission for medical students to take a leave of absence" as a prerequisite for participation.The University Professors' Association of

Amid this situation, the news of the first meeting between the opposition leader and the representative of the major raised expectations for a turnaround in the atmosphere.

At a closed meeting, Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, reportedly persuaded Park Dan, chairman of the emergency committee of the council, to participate in the consultative body.

However, after the meeting, Chairman Park reaffirmed on his SNS that he would not participate in the consultative body, saying that the increase in medical schools in 2025 should be withdrawn first.Before meeting
