Japan's general election for the House of Representatives will be held today.

As the ruling Liberal Democratic Party and opposition parties battle for 465 seats in the lower house, attention is focused on whether the ruling Liberal Democratic Party will win more than 233 seats, a majority.

The vote is at 7 a.m. today. It runs until 8 p.m., and each broadcaster's exit poll will be announced immediately after the end of the vote.

After that, the overall outline of the election is expected to be revealed after midnight tomorrow.

However, as the controversy over slush funds, the biggest weakness of the Liberal Democratic Party, continues, there are a series of predictions that the expected number of seats will fall short of a majority.

On the other hand, the Constitutional Democratic Party, the largest opposition party, even predicted that it could increase up to 150 seats from 98 seats.

If the ruling Liberal Democratic Party fails to secure a majority in this election, Ishiba's Cabinet is expected to face significant disruptions in its future state administration.

However, as the number of independents reaches 40%, it is predicted that it could act as a big variable until the end of the election.
