The average annual income of the "top 10%" of business income slightly exceeded 110 million won, which is 6.9 times higher than the average income of about 8.5 million business earners of about 16 million won.

Park Sung-hoon, a member of the National Assembly's Strategy and Finance Committee, reported income attributable to the National Tax Service in 2022, and 847,354 people with "top 10%" reported 93.62 trillion won as total income.

The average per capita is 110.49 million won, of which the average income of the "top 1%" is 585.11 million won.

Compared to the average income of 16.14 million won of 8,473,541 business income earners, the top 10% earned about 7 times and the top 1% 36 times.

This is interpreted as a result of the low competitiveness of the self-employed industry, especially among many small businesses, and the characteristics of the self-employed industry, where sales are concentrated on the top earners.
