The first parliamentary audit of the 22nd National Assembly will officially end this week with an audit by the Steering Committee of the Presidential Secretariat.

The Democratic Party of Korea plans to focus on suspicions related to Kim Gun-hee, but internal strife is intensifying within the people's power over solutions to quell the controversy over the first lady.

I'll connect you to the National Assembly reporter.

Reporter Kim Da-yeon, please tell us the atmosphere of the ruling party first.

Opinions are divided within the ruling party ahead of a general meeting of lawmakers to discuss the "promotion of a special inspector" that inspects relatives of the president.

As representative Han Dong-hoon sees the special inspector as a solution to quelling the controversy over Kim Gun-hee, the close circle is in a position to hold a general meeting of lawmakers at least this week.

As the results of the first trial of Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party of Korea will be released next month, the purpose is to resolve the controversy quickly in order to secure the leadership of the political situation before then.

On the other hand, floor leader Choo Kyung-ho, who serves as chairman of the general assembly of lawmakers, believes that it is not too late to hold a parliamentary audit after it is officially over.

Regardless of the timing of the general meeting of lawmakers, there is a backlash that the special inspector should not be pushed separately, especially by pro-Yoon-gye.

The special inspector said that the party's negotiation strategy has been to proceed in combination with the recommendation of directors of the North Korean Human Rights Foundation, which the Democratic Party feels burdened with, but it should not be pushed arbitrarily.

Until now, it has been customary to approve the general meeting of lawmakers with applause, but the possibility of voting for and against the special inspector is being discussed as there is a wide gap.

Let's also look at the Democratic Party situation.

The Democratic Party is emphasizing the promotion of a special prosecutor, not a special inspector, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, the Democratic Party is raising its voice on pushing for a "special prosecutor" instead of a special inspector, or a "special prosecutor."

The National Assembly's steering committee's audit of the presidential office on Friday plans to focus on the issue of First Lady Kim Gun-hee and highlight the legitimacy of the special prosecution.

Also, on Saturday, an outdoor rally condemning First Lady Kim Gun-hee has been announced.

Representative Lee is facing a first trial on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act on the 15th of next month and perjury on the 25th.

Therefore, the Democratic Party of Korea is determined to hold a plenary session on the 14th, the day before the first trial's sentence, and pass the Kim Special Prosecutor Act.

Many view the offensive as a public opinion battle to turn the public's attention away from the judicial risks of representative Lee Jae-myung.
