To mark the second anniversary of the October 29 Itaewon disaster, the government will gather within the jurisdiction of local governments to conduct a joint investigation into various sites that are highly likely to cause crowd accidents.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security said it has set up 15 types that are highly likely to cause multi-collection accidents, including local festivals, performances, and large stores under the jurisdiction of local governments, and asked local governments to establish comprehensive safety management measures through a joint investigation.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety discovered the risk targets for multi-collection crowd accidents and organized them into 15 types in the wake of the crowd accident in blind spots such as the Seongsu-dong concert hall in Seoul in July, recognizing the need for tighter safety management.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety classified the risk level of the target area and facilities based on the Japanese investigation and asked local governments and related ministries to establish a general safety management plan by the end of next month.

Based on this, local governments and related ministries plan to conduct actual joint inspections involving police, firefighters, and experts, and monitor the site situation by establishing a necessary response system for each region and facility.
