An American YouTuber who caused controversy in Korea by committing misbehavior, such as kissing the statue of a girl in peace, was assaulted by a passerby during the broadcast.

YouTuber Johnny Somali was hit in the face by a fist thrown by a man who suddenly approached while hosting a live broadcast with his group on the streets of Hongdae in Seoul on the night of the 24th.

Somali and the group complained to the man, but he took Somali's smartphone and threw it away before leaving.

Somali then continued the show again with a band over one eye.

The identity of the man who punched the fist and the motive of the assault have not been identified.

Johnny Somali caused controversy by posting videos of his rampage, such as kissing the Statue of Peace in Itaewon-dong, Seoul, or playing music loudly and spilling ramen soup at a convenience store.
