A few months ago, a 10-year apartment-built furniture bid rigging was caught and a fine of KRW 90 billion was imposed.

In the construction of the system bathroom, it was found that there was collusion for 7 years.

Lee Seung-eun reports.

The system bathroom is a dry method that simplifies and standardizes the process, and the construction speed is faster than the wet method of attaching tiles one by one manually.

Construction companies and others usually sign contracts with companies that bid for registered partners and write the lowest price.

It turns out that there has been widespread collusion in this system bathroom bidding market for seven years from 2015.

Nine companies were selected as the final successful bidders in 100 cases by negotiating 114 bids ordered by 52 construction companies with prospective bidders, bridesmaids, and bidding prices in advance.

The total amount of successful bid is 136.16 billion won.

The FTC decided to impose a fine of 6.72 billion won along with a corrective order, believing that collusion caused consumer damage, such as the collapse of the fair competition order and rising construction costs.

Most of the domestic system bathroom market, such as Daelim Batos and Hanssem, were constructed by the public sector, including the Korea Land Corporation.

[Kim Joong-ho / Head of Fair Trade Commission Service Cartel Investigation Team: This is the second time we have taken action against collusion related to apartment construction following bid rigging for built-in specialty furniture and the first time we have sanctioned bid rigging in the system bathroom construction market, which has been widespread across the country for a long time.]
The
Process Committee said it will strengthen monitoring and investigation into areas close to people's livelihoods, such as collecting household waste.
