The influx of smog from China has worsened air quality in parts of the Midwest.

The National Institute of Environmental Research said that the concentration of ultrafine dust was temporarily "bad" due to the accumulation of fine dust generated in Korea along with fog during the inflow of smog from China overnight.

At one point today (28th), the concentration of ultrafine dust in Songrim-dong, Dong-gu, Incheon, soared to 78μg per cubic meter, Incheon temporarily rose to the "bad" level by the afternoon, and Chungcheongnam-do in the afternoon.

The Korea Institute of Environmental Research predicted that air quality will improve as air congestion is resolved, and the air will be pleasant nationwide tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
