Former lawmaker Geum Tae-seop, a former member of the New Reform Party, is expected to run in the next presidential election of the Korean Bar Association in January next year.In a phone call with YTN, former lawmaker

said that although trust in the legal profession has fallen to the ground, the bargaining agreement has not been able to send a proper message, and that there have been calls from lawyers around to resolve the issue since last summer.

The Bar Association is a legal organization that must join to act as a lawyer, and the chairman serves a three-year term.

Chairman Byun Hye-hyup enters the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General, and the candidate recommendation committee for the head of the high-ranking government official's crime investigation department as ex officio members and has the right to recommend special prosecutors.

In addition to former lawmaker Geum, Kim Jung-wook, chairman of the Seoul Bar Association, and Ahn Byung-hee, a Korean-Chinese lawyer at the law firm, are reportedly considering running for the 53rd presidential election.
