Israeli parliament passes UNRWA ban

The Israeli parliament has passed a bill banning all activities of the U.N. Palestinian Refugee Agency, UNRWA, inside Israeli territory.The bill

was passed with a 92-to-10 vote in favor, followed by a fierce debate between proponents and opponents of the bill.

While the legislation will not take effect immediately, the United Nations and the international community fear it will exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

Israel claims UNRWA is linked to terrorist activities by Palestinian militant Hamas.
