Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who has been a supporter of former President Donald Trump, argued that Trump's return to power could reduce the government's budget by $2 trillion and our money by 2,800 trillion won.

Musk made the comments when asked by billionaire businessman Howard Rutnick, who was a supportive speaker on Trump's New York campaign trail, Bloomberg reported.

Rutnick asked how much he could tear from Joe Biden's government's existing budget, and Musk said at least $2 trillion is possible, adding that all government spending is tax and your money is being wasted.

If Trump is elected, the government's efficiency department will correct budget spending, he said, stressing that the government will get it out of the people's pocket.

Musk's $2 trillion target for government budget cuts is one-third of existing spending, with the U.S. Treasury spending $6.75 trillion in fiscal 2024.

If he wins the presidential election and returns to power, former President Trump says he will create a government efficiency committee that will make bold recommendations for reforms to the federal government's finances and leave them to Musk.
