Researchers at KAIST's new material engineering department Lee Kun-jae said they have developed a face-to-face micro LED mask that stimulates the dermis by using 3,770 micro LEDs and light diffusion layers.
The developed mask can uniformly transmit light to the dermis at a depth of 1.5mm, and a three-dimensional origami structure can be applied to make it close to the curves and protruding areas of the face.
The researchers explained that the newly developed mask showed excellent improvement in eight skin aging indicators, including skin tanniness, wrinkles, sagging, and pores.
In addition, it was expected that home care aging treatment would be possible by providing beauty effects to the entire facial dermis without side effects from low-temperature burns.
