At around 4:10 p.m. yesterday (29th), a car driving toward Yangpyeong caught fire on the Jungbu Inland Expressway in Nakdong-myeon, Sangju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and it was extinguished in about 40 minutes.
No one was injured in the evacuation of the driver, but all the cars were burned, causing property damage estimated by the fire department of 25 million won.
Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire based on a driver's statement that smoke suddenly rose from the engine room of the car.
