Heat waves above 32℃ and cold below 13℃ are difficult to operate
If it's over 13℃, it's a vampire...Mosquitoes can survive even in early winter
Mild and heavy rain until November...Expect a Good Environment for Mosquito Habitat
This fall,
when the boundaries of the season become blurred as summer heat waves and heavy rains continue.
Autumn mosquitoes are in full swing amid climate change.
Mosquitoes have increased even though the temperature has dropped recently, and there is a possibility that they will survive until winter.
Reporter Jung Hye-yoon's report.

Mosquitoes' favorite activity optimum temperature is an early summer temperature of 25 degrees or higher.
The number of people decreases above 32 degrees Celsius, making it difficult for mosquitoes to be active in midsummer heat waves.
Even in cold weather below 13 degrees, activity is significantly reduced.
However, you can absorb blood above 13 degrees Celsius, so you can meet mosquitoes until autumn and early winter if the temperature and environment are maintained.
This fall is generally higher than usual until November, so it is highly likely that mosquitoes will maintain a good environment.
In addition, more precipitation than any other fall recently can affect mosquito populations.
[Lee Jae-jeong / Kweather Forecast Team Leader: Usually, high precipitation and high humidity tend to increase mosquito populations and increase lifespan. Mosquito activities are taking place late this year due to high autumn temperatures, which usually tend to increase the number gradually, creating an environment where mosquitoes can be active late.
According to the current status of mosquito monitoring data collected by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, from 605 in the second week of October to 908 in the third week of October and 1,124 in the fourth week of October, the number is increasing even as the temperature drops.
In particular, as of the last week of October (23-29), this year's average mosquito activity index in Seoul is in the "attention" stage, where mosquito invasion into the house is prominent.
4-5 years ago, in the same period, it was in the 'pleasant' phase with little mosquito activity.
[Jung Hee-sun / Head of Infectious Disease Control Division, Seoul City Hall: As you can see from the mosquito activity index, it seems that mosquito activity tends to be longer and later than usual]
This year, the remaining autumn weather continues to be milder than usual and the number of mosquitoes increases, so mosquitoes that have entered the room can survive and work even in winter.
Experts emphasized the importance of emptying the surrounding stagnant water and checking mosquito-invading passages, septic tanks, and vents such as doors and insect screens.
