Spain's airport operator Aena said 12 flights scheduled to land at Valencia airport were diverted to other airports, while 10 were canceled.

Spain's weather service said the damage was caused by a huge amount of heavy rain, more than a month's worth of rain in a single day, with four times as much rain falling in a single day, particularly in Andalusia.
