Kim Hyun-joo met with YTN today (30th) at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, to commemorate the release of the Netflix series 'Hell 2'. He once again met viewers around the world with the role of Min Hye-jin following "Hell 1" through "Hell 2," which was first released on the 25th. Since its release,
'Hell 2' has achieved a good record as it ranked No. 1 in Netflix's 'Today's Top 10 Series' and No. 5 in the global market. When asked how he felt first, he thanked, saying, "Everyone worked hard in one mind, but what could be more pleasant?"
Kim Hyun-joo continues Min Hye-jin's narrative in 'Hell 2'. In Season 2, which depicts a story eight years after the supernatural phenomenon occurred, Min Hye-jin kept her faith and was working diligently with the members of Sodo to return the world to its original state.
Kim Hyun-joo said, "Min Hye-jin made a big change in Season 1 once, so I didn't think she had to change her character rapidly just because the years had passed. However, there is an internal strife within Sodo, and I wanted to express a feeling of loneliness or loneliness because of those things," he said, explaining the character-building process.
Kim Hyun-joo showed more skillful action in season 2, drawing favorable reviews. He said, "I trained a lot while preparing for 'Jeongi', and I practiced action for about three months before filming 'Hell 2'. I don't think I did well with the action, but I expressed the character well with the action. I think so."
Kim Hyun-joo has been with director Yeon Sang-ho for four consecutive works, from 'Hell 1' to 'Jeongi', 'Seonsan' and 'Hell 2'. Director Yeon said of Kim Hyun-joo in an official appearance, "When I work together, I feel a lot of things on the spot. It's more like a persona than a muse," he once praised.
When the story came out about this, Kim Hyun-joo said, "Hell 1 and Jung-yi were too favorite works that I couldn't refuse. Director Yeon's plan and screenplay, Seonsan, was so fun that there was no reason not to do it. And with the sudden appearance of 'Hell 2', I did four works in a row," he explained.
As for director Yeon, he said, "The idea itself is different. Especially surprising part is actor casting. Wasn't there no one who thought Moon Geun-young would come out like that? It was like that for me, and casting a new actor with a new material is something you can't do without courage and confidence," he added.
Finally, he responded to Yeon Sang-ho's praise, saying, "Coach Yeon and I are similar in age, so we seem to have similar sensibilities in terms of culture. It spans the digital and analog ages. I think that's why I was able to show the sensitivity that the director wanted to show."
Meanwhile, "Hell 2," starring Kim Hyun-joo, was released on Netflix on the 25th. It was produced in a six-part series, and Kim Hyun-joo, along with Kim Sung-chul, Kim Shin-rok, Im Sung-jae, Lee Dong-hee, Yang Ik-jun, Ire, Hong Eui-jun, and Cho Dong-in appeared.
