loyalty. The movie "Cheongseol," in which he starred, depicts a story of a warm-hearted young man, Yong-joon (Hong Kyung), falling in love with his younger brother, Autumn (Kim Min-ju), and Yeoreum (played by Noh Yoon-seo), who lives a life for her family.
Hong-kyung, who has completed intense characters through Netflix's D.P., Wave's Weak Hero, and Drama's Devil, has once again succeeded in a new transformation into an infinitely pure and tender youth in this film.
On the 30th, YTN had an interview with actor Hong Kyung in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and talked about various things related to acting, including his work.
First, he opened the interview by expressing his excitement and joy about meeting the audience in the theater for the first time in a long time. Hong-kyung said, "I think there is a story that can only be told when you are in your 20s when you don't come back. There is a heat that I feel only at that time, and I want to proudly convey that heart," he said.
In this work, he also revealed the intense preparation process, as he digested most of his lines in sign language. He said, "At first, I had worries and difficulties, but it didn't last long. Rather than doing it quickly, I wanted to do it completely well," he said. "I knew that I had to take time to get something, so I kept repeating it and fully put my time and mind into it," he said, explaining that he learned sign language with all his heart.
What kind of experience did acting without lines like this give him?
Hong said she was able to learn to focus more on the other person than anything else. He said, "I paid more attention to the other actor than to me. In the process, my mind naturally assimilated and something that I didn't think of popped out. It was a time to learn in-depth how to act," he said, smiling that he was able to grow further through "Cheongseol."
There was also a story about actors Noh Yoon-seo and Kim Min-ju, who worked together. He said of actor Noh Yoon-seo, "He was a smart actor who was intelligent, clear, and clearly knew what to do. I felt that the scene, situation, and attitude toward the work were different. Outside of acting, I learned a lot because I felt that you had leadership in the way you interact with the field staff." As for actor Kim Min-joo, he expressed satisfaction with the ensemble with them, saying, "The concentration on the work was very high, but there was depth of emotion."
Calmly but building up filmography more intensely than anyone else, what is his next goal? Hong-kyung, who decides to choose the direction of assimilation and attraction rather than setting something up, said, "Recently, I think I'm more curious about what I don't know. I feel for things that I can't imagine at all. It's fun to experience the world I didn't know and learn about it," he said, signaling a new transformation.
At the end of the interview, Hong-kyung did not forget the love call to the prospective audience. He said, "It seems stimulating to focus and attract people's attention, but in the end, it seems that people are fascinated by movies that touch their hearts. I think many people will be able to sympathize with it because it depicts the power of love and the time when everyone experiences a new world while loving," he said, expressing his hope that "Cheong-Seol" will reach a little more people.
The movie "Cheongseol," starring Hong Kyung, is set to be released in theaters on November 6.
