Russia showed off its nuclear power by conducting large-scale strategic nuclear exercises that mobilized all three major nuclear forces: land, sea, and air.

As the West grapples with the dispatch of North Korean troops, attention is also being paid to whether North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Sun-hee will visit Moscow and meet with Putin.

I'm reporter Jeong Yu-shin on the report.

Submarines test-fired cineva ballistic missiles, and Tu-95 strategic bombers test-fired long-range cruise missiles.

On the 29th, local time, Russian troops began a large-scale strategic nuclear exercise as scheduled.

The exercise drew attention by mobilizing all three nuclear forces, consisting of ground, sea and air-launched missiles.

[Andrey Bellowsov, Minister of Defense of Russia: The goal of this exercise is to carry out large-scale nuclear attack missions of strategic attack forces in response to enemy nuclear attacks.]

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that "all missiles have reached designated targets."

Putin, who ordered the strategic nuclear exercise, said he had no intention of competing in an arms race, but stressed that he would "maintain nuclear capabilities to the necessary level."

[Vladimir Putin/Russian President: Given the growing geopolitical tensions, new external threats, it is important to have a modern strategic force for combat]

Attention is also focusing on the move of North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Sun-hee, who visited Russia as the international situation is urgent due to the dispatch of North Korean troops.

This is Choi's third visit to Moscow this year, and he met with Putin during his official visit in January.

In response to the visit, the Kremlin said there was no schedule for a meeting between Putin and Choi.

Foreign Minister Choi is expected to meet with senior Russian officials, including Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, to discuss sending additional North Korean troops or responding to the UN Security Council.
