The main culprit and accomplice of the so-called "Seoul National University Nth Room" case were sentenced to 10 years in prison and 4 years in prison, respectively, in the first trial.

The court pointed out that they selected victims who had done nothing wrong and wiped out their character for a long time, stressing the need to raise the alarm in society with severe punishment.

In May, it was revealed that men, including Seoul National University graduates, synthesized and distributed photos of female acquaintances, including alumni, with pornography.

With the so-called "Seoul National University Room N" incident, there were about 60 confirmed victims alone.

After about five months of trial, the first trial sentenced Park in his 40s to 10 years in prison and Kang in his 30s, an accomplice, to four years in prison, respectively.

The court pointed out that Park and others committed digital sexual crimes that created false pornography and humiliated acquaintances at a university where the nation's top intellectuals gathered.

He then criticized that he sexually insulted and wiped out his character for a long time by selecting a victim who was innocent as if he were picking a game.

The court also pointed out that Park and others committed crimes using Telegram.

He said he committed the crime out of arrogance to avoid punishment using security, stressing that it is the responsibility of the judiciary to hide in anonymity and recognize the consequences of ignoring law and morality.

Park and others appealed for leniency, saying they committed the crime due to mental problems during the trial, but the court did not accept it, believing that they committed it out of inferiority and hatred toward women who are doing well.

The victim held a press conference immediately after the sentence and hailed it as a stern ruling for crimes that should not have happened.

[Cho Yoon-hee / Victim's legal representative: All victims hoped for strong punishment. I think our society as a whole needs to make efforts to restore a sense of trust and justice in the future.

The court unusually sentenced Park, the main culprit, to the same sentence as the prosecution's sentence.

I saw the need to raise alarm in society through strict punishment, but attention is focusing on whether Park and Kang, who were sentenced to heavy punishment, will appeal.
