Vice President Harris met with reporters before departing for a campaign rally in North Carolina, a rival state, in Washington, DC, on the 30th local time.
The remarks came after controversy erupted when former President Trump's pro-choice speech speaker at a New York campaign event on the 27th called Puerto Rico a "garbage island," and President Joe Biden said, "The only trash is Trump supporters."
"I think Biden has explained his remarks," Harris continued.
This comment is interpreted as an evolutionary move in consideration of the fact that President Biden's slip of the tongue could adversely affect the last-minute presidential election, which is a very close race.
Harris continued, "Whether you support me or not, I believe what I do is representing all the people," and emphasized, "It's my responsibility and what I've done all my life to be president for all Americans."
Even in the southern battleground state of North Carolina, Harris said, "I don't see anyone who disagrees with me as an enemy, unlike Trump."
He then criticized former President Trump as "a person who is unstable, obsessed with revenge, and covets unchecked power."
Harris also added that if Trump is elected, he will come into the office with a political list from day one, but he will be the first to carry a "do-to-do" list into the office and lower the cost of living for the people.
