Jeongseon-gun County Office officials in Gangwon-do belatedly promised compensation and apologized after the controversy broke out after it was revealed that they had a so-called "no-show" in which they did not visit without contact after making a group reservation for a meat restaurant.

Earlier on the 28th, A, who runs a meat restaurant in Yeouido, Seoul, posted on the online community that he had never made a group reservation for 40 people at the county office, and that he changed his words when he played the recording file, saying, "I'm sorry, I forgot to make a reservation."

Afterwards, A reportedly contacted the county office to receive compensation for the damage, and received an answer saying, "I understand your heart, but it is difficult to compensate."

The officials left for a two-day workshop in Seoul on the 28th, and entrusted the entire workshop event to a private company, but the company's mistake caused a "no-show."

As this was known, a series of articles criticizing the behavior of public officials were posted on the free bulletin board on the website of Jeongseon County Office.

As the controversy grew, Jeongseon admitted that communication was not smooth and that his response was insufficient, and apologized, saying that he would compensate A as much as he wanted.
