While Lee Ki-heung, chairman of the Korea Sports Council, has entered the process of being judged by the Sports Council's Sports Fair Committee, a prerequisite for his bid for a third term, Park Chang-beom, former president of the Korea Wushu Association, who threw his hat into the race, issued a statement urging Lee to stop his bid for a third term.Former chairman

Park said, "Despite opposition from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, it is questionable whether there is a serious problem with the judgment of Chairman Lee, who formalized his bid for a third term," adding, "We need to prevent Chairman Lee from serving a third term in office for refusing to recommend the Ministry of Culture and Sports to improve the system." "I ignored the sportsman's scream that the K-sports clock should not be turned upside down, and I turned a blind eye to it," he said.

He then said, "I strongly condemn his actions and define it as anachronistic arrogance. During his tenure, the sports world collapsed, and even democratic procedures were ignored in the administration of sports. Chairman Lee and his aides privatized the sports community in a closed room. This is why the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Association's union opposed his third consecutive term," he claimed.Former chairman

Park said, "Chairman Lee Ki-heung should stop serving a third consecutive term right now," adding, "Korea is the world's top 10 powerhouse and should play a leadership role in all fields, including culture and sports, as well as economic aspects. We should not return Korean sports to the 1980s," he stressed.

Meanwhile, ahead of the election for the chairman of the Korean Sports Council on January 14 next year, the Korean Sports Council held a briefing session on the 42nd election for the chairman of the Korean Sports Council at 2 p.m. today (31st) at Olympic Parktel Olympia Hall in Seoul.

The briefing session, which was held to facilitate the smooth operation of the election, was attended by more than 200 people, including membership organizations of the Korea Sports Association, membership city and provincial sports associations, and city, county, and district sports associations.

At the briefing session, changes were made compared to the 41st election, election management regulations for the chairman, and cooperation with member organizations.
