The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education has decided to build a new building with two basement floors, nine floors above the ground, and a total floor area of 26,272 square meters with a total project cost of 112.7 billion won, aiming to be completed in July 2029.
Construction will begin in 2027 after basic design and implementation design by renovating the new building at the site where the aging main building and new building have been demolished.
Following the construction of the new office, the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education will be rebuilt with an open area of 32,336 square meters by combining the existing annex and the Incheon Education Comprehensive Information Center.
Currently, the space area per employee of the city education office is 22㎡, accounting for only 40% of the recommended area for public institutions, and the main building, which was completed in 1983, is experiencing leakage problems due to the aging of the building.
